Baby driver
A music loving orphan, who is also one of the most talented getaway driver for heist mastermind Doc. With the correct music for each job, he makes sure his fellow colleagues are not caught. However after a while, Baby had decided his last job was his last job - he had retired as a getaway driver. This had caused frustration with his colleagues and causing baby to get threatened.
Fear
Throughout the movie and trailer there is a lot of Fear being shown, there is fear of getting caught, fear of getting killed.
Fear is effectively denoted in the first opening scene - (0:45) on the trailer, the protagonist is the getaway driver and there is a fear of getting caught by the police after robbing one of the largest banks in the setting.
The protagonist suffers fear by his own teammates (1:06), he is pressured by the teammates since he is seen as a soft and easy to bully target, this is because he is seen as a mute, hence why he has headphones in all the time listening to music. Baby (protagonist) is peer pressured by his mates and the people around him to take the final job, so he does.
Both the antagonist and protagonist suffer fear of death, as seen in the timestamp (2:20), they have a conversation that can decide what happens next in the movie, as after this scene the antagonist and protagonist try to kill each other. In the attempts of doing so the protagonists scenes are damaged.
Both the brain and the body undergo physiological changes as a result of fear. When watching a terrifying movie, for example, the brain creates adrenaline which makes it exciting towards the viewer. After the antagonist and protagonist have a chat, there is a sense of enigma created as it is not known for what happens next.
In order to create fear in my movie, I will include conflict with the antagonist and protagonist and include often scenes with the two to create fear, as well as suspense and violent scenes.
Love
Between both protagonist and the heroine, there is the theme of love, love is mentioned a lot throughout the film, even between the antagonist and his lover.
Love is clearly denotated throughout the movie, often in the diner, the audience would see the clear relationship and love between the two actors. (0:15) The look in the heroines eyes shows the love towards the protagonist, which can make the audience feel excited towards the couple.
Love will not be shown in my film, it is going to be overlooked.
Shown below is a collision scene, with the protagonist directly crashing in and doing a hit and run, making this a crime, making a feeling of enigma towards the audience as it may mean they get caught by the police. (1:38)
Lastly, there is a scene where a car is hijacked and joyrider, drifting across streets, being a crime. Making excitement and enigma if they will get away from the protagonist. (1:48)
Crime
Throughout the movie crime is shown a lot, bank robberies and police chases are frequent here.
What is shown below is a police chase, where the red car is being chased by a fleet of police cars, with the protagonist driving and the soon to be antagonist in the car. Crime is shown through the use of fast driving and the noise of police cars. This makes the audience go to the edge of their seat as an excitement. (0:26)
