Unit 3: Rushes log

In addition to the issues with blurry footage, there were a few other challenges we encountered during the filming process. Despite these obstacles, we made sure to focus on capturing the scenes from the correct camera angles, ensuring that the composition and visual storytelling were effectively conveyed to the audience.

To achieve the desired effect, we meticulously planned and executed each shot, taking into account factors such as lighting, framing, and overall visual aesthetics. Our team worked diligently to ensure that the scenes were filmed for the appropriate duration, allowing for smooth transitions and a coherent narrative flow.

Furthermore, we paid close attention to the actors' performances and managed to capture their nuanced expressions and movements accurately. The descriptions of the actors' characters were well-communicated through their actions, gestures, and dialogue, adding depth and authenticity to their portrayals.

While some clips had to be excluded due to their blurry nature, we made the best use of the footage that met our quality standards. Our editing team worked diligently to enhance the visual clarity wherever possible, utilizing advanced techniques and post-production tools to salvage valuable moments from those clips.

Overall, despite the challenges encountered with blurry footage, we were able to overcome them and deliver a film that showcases well-composed shots, appropriate durations, and compelling actor performances. The final result reflects our commitment to visual storytelling and attention to detail, ensuring an engaging and immersive experience for the audience.

Unit 3: Relating to client brief

 Description of the Demographics

16 to 24 year olds from the UK who like viewing thriller movies make up the target demographic for our first thriller film. By having the protagonist around the same age as the target audience and filming the opening sequence in the UK, we will make sure that our thriller appeals to our intended demographic. We'll make sure it adheres to a number of opening-scene norms for movies as well as thriller-specific customs like subdued lighting and tense music. Making a thriller opener for this demographic would benefit us since young viewers will find the thriller genre to be highly fascinating because there is a lot of action and excitement. Making sure that the thriller's introduction appeals to and engages our target audience may provide difficulties. To ensure that our thriller opener appeals to our target audience, we must concentrate on elements like characters, settings, and plot.

Conventions

Our thriller opener will follow a number of opening sequence and thriller conventions. The title, credits, low-key lighting, tense music, and thriller themes are among the essential conventions. To introduce the viewers to the entire film, we will incorporate the title at the conclusion of our opening scene. In order to introduce the filmmakers and lead actress to the public at the beginning of our opening sequence, their credits will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. To build tension and captivate/frighten the audience, music will also be used into the opening sequence. In addition, there will be obvious thriller themes like violence, kidnapping, and escape in our initial scene. By using low-key lighting, we will make our opening sequence appear ominous and terrifying during editing.

Industry requirements

The organisation for which we are creating the thriller opening is the Michigan, USA-based "Thriller Chiller Film Festival." Since 2006, this organisation has screened action, sci-fi, horror, and suspense movies at their annual international film festival. On their website, it is said that their films are "produced with tenacious resolve and unbridled imagination. movies produced with roughness and vision. movies created when watching movies was merely for entertainment." Working with this organisation has the benefit of putting our suspenseful opening scene in front of a big audience at their film festival. Additionally, it presents prizes for the top movies. Our target audience will grow if we get an award since it will raise awareness of our movie. Medium

Film is the medium in which we operate. In a thriller movie I'm working on, I'm creating the opening scene.
